Locations

Whether your ideal holiday is trekking, sailing, watersports or great scenery, Thailand has something for everyone. If you like just exploring an idyllic beach catching the sun, enjoying great food or riding an elephant, then we can give you a few ideas in our Locations page.

The North of Thailand

Northern Thailand has something a little different to offer. Although you will not find a beach holiday here, there are some great activities on offer. Visit Chinese Hill Tribes, ride an elephant or just amble along one of the so- called ‘walking streets’, a collection of market stalls stretching for over a kilometre on both sides of a street closed to traffic on a Saturday night. Open to around midnight, a great place to sample local street food and buy some very economical souvenirs.

Travel - Useful Tips

Thailand is a very friendly place and the locals are always ready to advise with a customary smile. Just follow the short guide in the useful tips section and you should not offend many people.

Useful Thai Phrases

Whilst English (and some other European languages) are widely spoken in hotels and resorts, away from these areas, it may not always be the case. Even where English and other languages are used for the tourists, you will get more pleasure from visiting Thailand (and more smiles) if you can master a few words in Thai language (par-sah Thai). Our useful Thai phrases section will provide a good starting point for studying before you go and has a useful print version to take with you.
